Fundraiser for Saving Sumter Strays! Come out and have fun and give to a great cause! A portion of the ticket price will go to the charity. We will also be taking donations of dog food, puppy pads and general pet supplies on the night of the painting class!

The purpose of Saving Sumter Strays is to save animals taken in at Sumter Animal Control by providing the necessary care and vetting while awaiting adoption or rescue placement.

Saving Sumter Strays was started as a direct response to the undeniable need for an alternative solution to euthanasia within our local Sumter County Animal Control facility. The City of Sumter is plagued by a large stray dog population and before Saving Sumter Strays was created, the likelihood of any animal being adopted out or reunited with family was virtually non-existent.This untimely and often unnecessary end of life was something that we vowed to change and so began the creation of an organization who's sole mission is to save as many adoptable dogs as possible that are taken in by Animal Control. We accomplish this goal mainly by partnering with different animal rescues both local and distant, encouraging/facilitating local adoptions, and reuniting lost pets whenever possible. S.S.S. operates and relies wholly on both donations and a tribe of volunteers to walk, feed, medicate, vaccinate, transport and LOVE on these dogs up until we can secure safe placement.

Every dollar donated goes directly to the animals in our care at your local Animal Control and allows them to receive veterinary treatment, immunizations and sterilizations. Supporting our organization fulfills the needs of these shelter dogs and allows them the chance to fulfill their place as a loving and unconditional companion.
